Order Processing & Prescription Verification
To ensure patient safety and comply with CDSCO guidelines, the processing time for your order depends on the type of items purchased:

Over-the-Counter (OTC) & Wellness Products: Orders are typically processed and dispatched within 24 hours of payment confirmation.

Prescription Medications: Before we can dispatch prescription drugs, a licensed pharmacist must review and validate your uploaded prescription. If the prescription is unclear, expired, or invalid, our pharmacy team will contact you. Dispatch will only occur after successful verification.
Shipping Methods & Delivery Times
We offer several shipping options depending on your location and the urgency of your medical needs. Delivery timelines are calculated from the moment your order is dispatched, not from the time the order is placed.

Standard Delivery: 3 to 5 business days.

Express Delivery: 1 to 2 business days (available in select metropolitan areas).

Hyper-Local/Same-Day Delivery: Available for eligible pin codes on orders placed and verified before 12:00 PM IST.
Note: Deliveries to remote or restricted areas may experience extended timelines.
Special Handling: Temperature-Controlled Medications
Certain medications, such as insulin, biologics, and specific eye drops, require strict temperature control to remain effective.

Cold-Chain Logistics: These products are packed in specialized insulated containers with cooling packs and are shipped exclusively via our cold-chain logistics partners to maintain product integrity throughout transit.

Delivery Requirement: Someone must be present at the shipping address to receive these packages immediately. Discount Medicine is not liable for spoilage if a temperature-controlled package is left unattended after successful delivery.
Delivery Restrictions
Due to the strict legal framework governing e-pharmacies in India, Discount Medicine enforces the following shipping restrictions:

Prohibited Substances: We do not stock or ship Schedule X drugs, narcotics, or psychotropic substances, as their online sale and distribution are strictly prohibited by law.

Domestic Shipping Only: We currently only ship within the borders of India. We do not process international orders.

Address Verification: For sensitive medications, our delivery partners may call you prior to delivery to verify your address and availability.
Undeliverable Packages & Failed Attempts
Medications are highly sensitive items. If our courier cannot deliver your package due to an incorrect address or because no one is available to receive it:

Our logistics partner will make up to two delivery attempts.

If both attempts fail, the package will be returned to our facility (Returned to Origin).

Due to the safety risks associated with medications leaving our chain of custody, returned prescription items often must be destroyed and cannot be restocked or refunded. Please ensure your delivery details are accurate and that you are available to receive your package.
Order Tracking
Once your order has been verified and dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email and SMS containing your airway bill (AWB) number and a tracking link. You can use this link to monitor the real-time status of your medical supplies until they reach your doorstep.
